Please help me with prices of these World War collectables.?

Posted by admin on February 19th, 2010 and filed under collectables | 3 Comments »

Hi.

Could all historical collectors/dealers of German War collectables out there help me with the prices of these articles –

Nazi Hermann Goering Presentation Medallion.

Nazi War Merit Cross with Swords.

GESTAPO warrant disc, keyring (bronze).

Nazi 1937 Pattern Hunters’ Association Presentation Hunting Sword.

Nazi Luftschutz 2nd class Medal.

Nazi Pattern Army Officers dagger.

Waffen SS, I.D tag.

German 1938 Pattern Naval Officer’s Dress Dagger.

Help on any/all of the above will be appreciated.

Thank you.

These are all very specialist items. You would be best to take them to an auction house. Usually a company such as Sothebys will give valuations for free and they have the expertise to know their true market value. I’ve seen the Nazi Pattern army dagger sell for prices between £15 and £200, depending on the blade, the mount, any inscription etc.

Which European countries ban Nazi militaria/collectables?

Posted by admin on February 17th, 2010 and filed under collectables | 1 Comment »

Greetings all

Could someone please tell me which European countries ban Nazi militaria/collectables?

Many thanks for your assistance.

Germany bans "most" Nazi material–flags, swastika, Uniforms; however you can obtain a copy of Mein Kampf

France and Italy as well.

Ebay rules prohibit the shippment of Nazi material to those countries as well.

GaiaOnline Monthly Collectables, how do they work?

Posted by admin on February 15th, 2010 and filed under collectables | 1 Comment »

I’m new to gaia, and I bought the September Monthly Collectible for fun. Anyway, it says on Gaia that MC usually comes with two items…however if you go into the previews for the past months, if you click the item, it pops up a box and you have like 5-10 other items within it.

So what does this mean? Do you randomly get ONE of those items? Or all?

first of all, you know you can only open them in the afternoon of the 15 of the month, right? (they may have permanently switched it to the 8th though)
Ok, so when you can finally open the thank you letter, you get the option or 2 different items. now, because they are so expensive, you want you’re money’s worth, right? right. so they give you, within that item, many to use. everything in the drop down menu for that one item is different variations of that specific item, you get them all.
now let’s just hope this one is better than the last two that sucked.

COLLECTABLE SPECTACLE 9 OF 18

Posted by admin on February 13th, 2010 and filed under collectables | 3 Comments »

Collectable Spectacle is an eighteen part documentary series about toy and comic collector Mark Bellomo. Mark is the author of many Toy Collectible Guides ( The Ultimate Guide to G.I.JOE 1982-1994, Transformers Identification and Price Guide) and has amassed an immense toy and comic collection over the last several decades. His knowledge of nearly every toy line introduced to store shelves over the last 30 years is amazing. I met Mark through the www.yojoe.com forums and decided to fly across the continent to film him as he prepared to photograph toys for his 2nd edition of The Ultimate Guide to G.I.JOE. What followed was five intense days of toys, toys, and more toys.

I hope the inner child in anyone watching these 18 episodes can feel young again.

This was a non-profit documentary series made for the toy fan community. All travel and equipment expenses were paid out of pocket by me. If anyone enjoys these videos and would like to offer a small gratuity “thank you” for all the work put into it, please feel free to Paypal any donation to flophousefilms@shaw.ca

I appreciate any support, it could lead to future series like this.

Enjoy.

Episode Breakdown:

Episode 1 – Mark visits his two favorite comic and collectible haunts where he talks shop with the owners.

Episodes 2-6 – Mark and I visit one of his storage lockers and spend hours reliving Christmas morning with every new box opening. Star Wars, He Man, Transformers, Justice League, Smurfs, theyre all there.

Episode 7 Mark visits an old friend where they discuss the concept of collecting and how the children of today face a different world of entertainment than we did as children of the 1980s.

Episodes 8-10 G.I.JOE fans rejoice. On the eve of photographing all the new vehicle photos for the 2nd edition book, Mark walks us around his garage where hes set up every G.I.JOE vehicle from 1982-1994 and talks a little about their history.

Episodes 11-12 Two 14+ hour days spent photographing every G.I.JOE vehicle for the new book. Plus a look at the original new cover design that never made it to print.

Episodes 13-18 Mark and I return to the storage locker and dig deeper into the abyss. Hey its Christmas again!

How to find best prices to sell collectables (coins, model cars, dvds, books etc)?

I want to sell my deceased son’s property & collectables (books, model cars, coins, dvds, vhs, etc) How to find the value of items and how do I get best prices?

if you are serious, try to get the items to a certified appraiser. you can find them in your phone book.

How many collectables is the falling dollar costing America? Example:?

freind is a coin dealer and tells me that many top collections going overseas because of dollar and euro.

There are enough rich people here and most real true rare U.S. coins are in the Smithsonian or museum’s. The weak dollar does not help American collectors of ancient or world coins. Another thing is with the down fall of Communism where coin collecting was a western decadent thing, a lot of people in those countries have started to collect their own countries coins. They want to bring them home and I can not blame them. The history of a country can be told by the coins and paper money they issued over the years. One can easily see the good times and bad times. The only coins leaving the U.S. are mostly rare world coins. Most U.S. dealers have no idea what they are anyway. It is hard to find a dealer that knows a lot about all coins or a general knowledge of them. Some have no idea what book to use as a reference. One thing I have found is I buy coins from a dealer who does not specialize in that type and sell to ones that do. There is a great difference between a coin dealer or collector and a numismatist.

Where can I find inexpensive Disney collectables?

I want stuff like Cinderella’s glass slipper, alladin’s lamp, snow white’s apple, beauty and the beast’s enchanted rose, Anastaisa’s music box

You will probably find imitations (replicas) of these on Ebay.
