What is an efficient way to stick stuffed animals to a wall?

Posted by admin on April 30th, 2011 and filed under stuffed animals | 2 Comments »

I have more than 30 stuffed animals in different sizes and I’m trying to find a creative way to display them.
What is mess free, efficient, yet not permanent way to stick them to a cement wall?
I don’t want it to be too messy/sticky/permanent because I might change my mind in a year.
If you cannot thing of a mess free, efficient way, can you suggest other creative ideas?

Hang them off the ceiling it actually looks nice

How do I attach wooden deck post to a concrete porch?

Posted by admin on April 23rd, 2011 and filed under wooden | 3 Comments »

Making a wooden handrail on the side of my porch. Need to mount the post so they stay there.

i’d attach the posts with at least a half or 3/4 in. bolt 8 inches long (if your posts are 4 X 4’s. you’ll need a masonry bit the size of the bolt to drill into the concrete and a wood bit to drill through the post. drill through your post in two places, not directly over each other but offset slightly and then mark through the holes to the concrete where you want the posts fastened. set the post aside then drill with your masonry bit where you’ve made your marks. get a tube of liquid nails and squirt some into the concrete hole before you set your screws. put up your post, screw in your bolts and then give the liquid nails at least 24 hours to set and you should be good to go with installing the handrail. nothing short of an earthquake will get those posts loose.

I have bed bugs and am moving, however how to remove them from stuffed animals?

Posted by admin on April 21st, 2011 and filed under stuffed animals | 5 Comments »

We’ve had bed bugs for a little over two months and only identified them last month.
We decided to move out of the apartment and take precautions -
washing everything in hot water, drying them, freezing things.
However, we still have yet to bring over things like stuffed animals.
I’m concerned there may be bugs inside them, would washing and drying them in hot temperatures as well as keeping them outdoors in freezing weather help?

Normally, I would say throw them out, but I know how people are with these things, especially kids.
Tell kids they need to go to doctor’s for a few days. Then drench them with black flag, let them sit in a sealed plastic bag(s) for a couple of days and then wash them in the machine. You will then have to put them back in plastic bag, sealed with packing tape until you get to the new place.

I saw on HGTV that bedbugs LOVE stuffed animals.

How do I tell if my girlfriend is talking to another boy on the phone?

Posted by admin on April 19th, 2011 and filed under talking | 2 Comments »

We talk on the phone alot because we stay kinda far from eachother. But lately when we get on the phone she wants to call me back because of such and such. And she always wants to talk at night but she never says anything and she just falls asleep on me. Is she talking to another guy?

SHE IS TRYING to give you a SUBTLE MESSAGE……it’s OVER.

Bail BEFORE she has to hit you with a two by four.
AND the advantage is….it will LOOK like YOU dumped HER!

"Playskool Weebles" – is this toy perfect for my 5 yrs old daughter OR is she a bit too old for that?

Hi,
I saw this toy "Playskool Weebles" on a TV ad:

http://www.toysrus.ca/product/index.jsp?productId=4246949

My daughter is 5 years old. Is she too old for that toy or not at all?

What age range would you guess this toy is for? like 2-3 years old OR 3-7?

THANKS.

It depends on what your daughter likes, you could try showing them to her just to get her opinion on them, and I’m twelve and I played with my baby cousins for a little while and I had fun with them they are very cute and amusing XD Good luck and I hope this Helped!

How can i make a hole in a wooden pipe without a drill?

Posted by admin on April 14th, 2011 and filed under wooden | 2 Comments »

So i have been seeing wooden pipes alot and i want to make one the only problem is i don’t have access to any power tools. So what should i do to make a wooden pipe?

Burn and scrape. Heat a steel rod to red, burn spot where you want the hole and scrape out the burnt wood. Repeat process until it’s deep enough or through the wood.

If you do this outside or somewhere well wentilated you could build a fire and do the same thing with a wooden stick or dowell rod. Burn the stick until you have an ember on the end and use that to burn the hole..

OR— If you have a way to secure the bowl ( as in a vice ) you could make a drill out of a bow and string ( bent rod or stick or maybe a bow saw frame , whatever ) Twist a stick one turn in the string and hold the top with another block. place the bottem against the bowl where you want the hole ( you’ll probably have to start the hole with your pocket knife ) then when you saw the bow back and forth, it will turn the stick or rod back and forth like a drill bit. This too will burn through the wood as previously mentioned. stop at the desired depth.

I know this may sound silly but this is how our forefathers did it when they didn’t have any tools…

Let your imagination go wild and you’d be amazed at what you can think of.. This is just a small example, what would you do if you had to get by without our modern tools and conveniences?

have fun…

What do you put on wooden drawers to help them open easier?

We have an antique/ old wooden drawers that stick. What do we put on the drawers to help them slide open and closed easier?

Bees wax will do the job,and will not cause any discoloration to the wood,or degrade the quality.
